Looking for the School Library, Reconceived

This has been a thread on ISED, but I thought I should consolidate the links here for future reference and ease of sharing in the future. This is such an important topic.

First, there is the article from Independent School's Technology issue from Summer, 2013. Full disclosure: I am a co-author.
https://www.nais.org/Magazines-Newsletters/ISMagazine/Pages/Issues/Technology-and-the-Future-of-Schools.aspx
Next, the current issue of AASL's Knowledge Quest is themed "Imagining the Future" and includes an article "Developing Readers through Effective Library Planning" as well as "Redesigning our Role while Redesigning our Libraries," among several others of interest.  http://www.ala.org/aasl/kq/v42no1

The ISED thread offered the following links to collections by various NAIS librarians.
https://sites.google.com/site/rethinkinglibraries/ (Ann Hamel)
https://www.diigo.com/search?adSScope=my&what=library&snapshot=no (Lucy Gray)

And I include a page on my own website http://www.strongschoollibraries.com/index.html that links to information about the Re-Ed: The Next Chapter conference (Fall 2011) using Design Thinking to re-envision our libraries in the future.

I will continue to consolidate information here for everyone.  Meanwhile, please encourage your colleagues to join our group. Advocacy and foresight for our libraries is just as important in the independent school world as elsewhere. I note the need for my other current effort to support local public school libraries in crisis this year: http://www.studentsneedlibrariesinhisd.org/. The site consolidates everything about advocacy that I have been able to find in the last month for the benefit of our district librarians. Perhaps it is useful to others.
