    Dear colleagues,

As the pandemic continues, protecting mental well-being for students, faculty, and staff has never been more important. Authentic Connections, is an organization that builds resilience in school communities using science and data. To help schools guide their communities through this time, Authentic Connections has been sharing findings from over 23,000 students and 6,000 faculty/staff assessed since the beginning of the pandemic.

The AC team is presenting three sessions at the NAIS Annual Conference this year, and I want to invite you and your colleagues. Here is the description and time for each session:

    • Healthy and Safe Independent Schools Signature Experience Keynote: Focusing on Student Well-being During the Pandemic: A Holistic Approach
      • Feb. 24th at 1:00 EST
      • Student well-being is highly dependent upon the unique factors within each school, but there are common themes across institutions that provide insight into how to support students' mental health. Dr. Suniya Luthar and Nina Kumar will highlight the most important, modifiable risk and protective processes that have emerged across the nation, and describe best practices that schools have implemented to bolster well-being. (Note: Attendance is limited to those enrolled in the signature experience. See more here.)
    • Quick Fire Session: Findings from the AC Faculty Resilience Survey: How to Support Your Faculty and Staff Amid COVID-era Burnout
      • Feb. 25th at 1:15 EST
      • This quick fire session will feature three topics: enrollment, community well-being, and COVID safety. Dr. Luthar will present the section on community well-being, focusing on how schools can support faculty and staff mental health going forward.
    • Advancing Mental Health and Well-being in Schools Using Data
      • Feb. 25th at 3:30 EST (Add to Calendar: iCalOutlook, Google Calendar)
      • The AC team and Dr. Anna Moore from the Westminster Schools will present a case study describing how the Westminister team used data from AC's surveys to drive improvements in mental health, and discuss how to address the potential challenges of program implementation.

If you are attending the conference, I hope we can connect during the event!
