The Independent Curriculum Group has several FREE resources on offer that might be of interest to NAIS members.

In the next week or so we will be offering three webinars related to curriculum and instruction:
    • Next WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 19 at 3:30pm ET, Mark Engstrom from NAIS member school ALLEN ACADEMY (TX) will be sharing Allen's experiences with "Learning Journeys," an interactive and student-driven approach to learning that provides "a student-friendly way for students to move through the learning process on their own terms and at their own pace." More information and register at http://bit.ly/2MheiZ9
    • Next THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 20 at 3:30pm ET founder Wendy Weiner  will discuss the CONSERVATORY PREP SCHOOLS' (FL) successful approach to teaching "Twice Exceptional" students-students who present with exceptional intellectual ability and learning disabilities. These students "process differently and need a new method to achieve in the classroom," and Conservtaory Prep's EdLuministic Learning technique is designed to meet their educational needs. • On MONDAY, September 24 at 3:30pm ET, staff from NAIS member WOOSTER SCHOOL (CT) will present on their Deep Learning Initiative (DLI) as part of the ICG's ongoing "Beyond AP" webinar program. Wooster's DLI courses are advanced courses that "more effectively support Wooster's philosophy to develop and extend students' learning through active and engaged instruction." This webinar will provide an overview of Wooster's Beyond AP transition timeline as well as implementation experience and DLI course development. The Independent Curriculum Group would also like to invite NAIS members to join our new, free listserv. INDY-CURRICULUM is available to all educators and friends of education who are interested in exploring, promoting, and/or implementing the concepts and ideals embodied in the mission of the Independent Curriculum Group and in our Principles of Independent Curriculum. We believe that only by the free and vigorous exchange of ideas, questions, resources, and practices can the promise be realized of a transformative, responsive, effective, and humane education for all students. Read more and complete the easy sign-up HERE.

We also invite NAIS members to contact us about our low-cost School and Organization Partner program, which this year includes even lower-cost "School in Development" and "Micro-School" categories. Partnership is free for any school more than 50% of whose student bodies would be eligible for free or reduced-price student lunches under federal guidelines. The ICG is open to any school of any type, public or private.

All good wishes for a terrific 2018–19 school year!-Peter Gow
